Under Pressure

It’s been a moment since I last blogged, much has changed. Let’s examine the landscape:
1- Barack Obama is now President Obama. Community activistism goes national..
2- America is in the grips of a financial crisis.
3- Democrats control 90% of the Federal government.
4- Republicans slink around with their tails between their legs. Rightly and justly so.
5- Conservatives’ and Libertarians, once a factor in the Republican party, find themselves and their ideology alone in a cold barren world.
All righty, looking at the list above, America has some issues. Looking at the list above, America seems to be in a bit of trouble. Looking at the list above it would be safe to assume (from a conservative viewpoint) that America is in for some seriously rough times. Looking at the list above it appears that America has fallen down and it’s gonna be a minute before(if she does) get up.
I can address all of the above and much more with one simple statement from my 96 year old Grandfather, “ You reap what you sow.”
That’s right. You reap what you sow- what exactly have we been sowing in the last 20-30 years? Love for America? Practical and sound economic practices that are free of political tampering? Real world banking practices that are based upon real world risks? Educating our children on the concepts of good debt/ bad debt, moral/immoral? Oh hell-to- the- fuckin’- no, we have done none of the above, yet we desire an economy and lifestyle that all those things provide.What are we,a nation of infants? I mean the thinking above is infantile.
Take a look at the so-called “ stimulus package”- Let’s see, Americans have too much debt on all levels- private and business, so let’s go deeper into debt- yeah that’s the ticket. Let’s make our grandchildren pay for this shit.
It’s got to stop. It will stop. We are going to stop it, or it will stop when the whole thing collapses in upon itself, either way it will stop.

Bold -- You might be right, but I think you are wrong if you think that the government, bad news and and a handful of corrupt individuals will stiffle American ingenuity. Most of America isn't like New Orleans waiting around to be rescued, we are resiliant, clever and most of allwilling to take risks and make sacrifices. Don't count us out.
